Sewer Credit Programs can also provide economic relief for other processes that consume municipal water, where water is not returned to the sanitary sewer.  Examples include manufacturing facilities, food & beverage plants, laundries, etc.    

Typically, participating municipalities design these programs for facilities that sewer <90 percent of their total domestic water intake.  Evaporative cooling or manufacturing applications that consume water as a part of their process are prime candidates for this credit.  For instance, cooling tower systems typically evaporate 65-80 percent of their make-up.
